I love these headphones and it's as pity they're no longer easily available. I'm very grateful to Todd at TTVJ for working directly with Grado to get me a set! I listen almost exclusively to classical music, and the clarity and purity of sound, especially in the mid and high end, are a huge improvement over the bass-heavy closed-back headphones I had been using previously. I've found that using the Grado's on my iPhone with an external Qudelix-5K DAC/EQ can improve things even further, especially with my hearing problems at high frequency. Extremely pleased with both the headphones and the above-and-beyond service from TTVJ.

Initial impressions are very good. Nice even tonal balance, and very good detail retrieval. Looking very forward to more time listening.

I have to admit, I was skeptical about purchasing the TTVJ Deluxe pads. I was already using the Grado F-pads on my SR225e’s and was impressed with the increased bass and tamed highs. The skepticism was revealed when I tried the Deluxe pads on the 225e’s and noticed a nearly identical sound to the Grado F-pads. That was a letdown, but I decided to try something different.
I also have a pair of SR80e’s and I put the Deluxe pads on them. Instantly, the SR80e’s came alive with deep and full bass extension! The Deluxe pads have incredibly transformed my 80e’s and I couldn’t be happier with the new sound they’re producing. The Grado F-pads will stay on the 225e’s and I’ll keep using the TTVJ Deluxe pads on the 80e’s. I would highly recommend anyone who’s on the fence about spending $60 plus on foam ear pads to seriously consider the Deluxe pads. Just know that they sound better on some Grado models than others.

CUSTOMIZE YOUR STEREO
You sit down just in time to hear the band take the stage. The lights go down, the volume comes up and the music comes to life! The singer is standing right in front of you singing right to you. The piano is just behind him on the right and he can really tickle the ivories! The acoustic guitar is crisp and clean from the left of the stage and the drum beats out the rhythm from behind them all. The bass player lays down a groove that can be felt, making you want to get out of your chair and move!
But you are not in a concert hall or stadium. No, you are in your favorite chair in the sweet spot in your listening room or maybe at your desk with a great pair of headphones. Either way, it is as if the band has come to give you a private audition! They are there with you and you are there hearing them live. Only the finest of stereo equipment can bring this kind of reality into your personal listening area. Analog or digital, tubes or solid state – we have it all to deliver the best listening experience no matter the price point.
