Low output moving-coil cartridge.
After many attempts and extensive listening to countless prototypes we finally feel we have a cartridge worthy of the Pure Fidelity badge. Frankly, the Stratos boasts no exotic materials or “breakthrough” technologies. It simply sounds wonderful, especially considering the price. The stereo imaging is illuminating. The midrange is organic with a natural tonal balance. Even with this rich, textured sound, it still manages to excel with huge dynamic range and explosive transients. The Stratos will have you listening for hours on end.
Duralumin alloy body combines aluminum, copper and magnesium for low weight, minimum resonance and high rigidity.
Micro elliptical diamond stylus has exceptionally high precision to trace the smallest musical details. Frequency response is 20 – 40,000 Hz.
Powerful soundstage with 25 dB channel separation and 0.5 dB channel balance.
Samarium cobalt magnet combines reasonable output and low mass.
Solid aluminum cantilever contributes to excellent compliance: 12 x 10-6 cm/dyne.
